ORGANISING WORK

Over the years Picozzi & Morigi has always pursued a strongly innovative profile, aiming to keep in line with the technological progress in communications and archiving methods, in conformity with legislation and with national and international requirements regarding privacy.
At present Picozzi & Morigi have a central office in Rome, on via dei Condotti, six offices in the city, an office in Sardinia, one in Milan, and one in Nanjing, China. Other offices, not belonging directly to Picozzi & Morigi, but associated in the management of some of the regular customers, are connected to the same electronic archive. This archive is structured so that all the documents and all correspondence drawn up in any of the offices can be shared by all the stations on the network and therefore be reviewed, corrected and printed at each station. The archive can also be accessed on line.
Picozzi & Morigi organised this set-up because they found that many of their private customers have difficulty moving around and prefer to meet their lawyer on line or in their own neighbourhood. The idea of setting up separate offices in various neighbourhoods around the city was greeted quite favourably since even the outlying offices guarantee quality and punctuality of the services as well as homogeneity of professional response. The presence of the more specialised and more expert lawyers is ensured by the electronic archive and by the videoconference system. On the other hand it is not unusual for personal meetings with the customer to take place in an office that is not the usual one of the lawyer following the case, based on the principle of “many offices for one single Firm”.
The electronic archive is used for the efficient management of an enormous mass of case files. With the PIMOX system, expressly elaborated by Picozzi & Morigi, the customer is assigned a password and a Login ID in order to enter the electronic archive and consult only his own files. This is used for lawsuit dates, for the outcome of hearings and for updating the appointment calendar. Documents that were not drawn up by Picozzi & Morigi, such as the lawsuit minutes, the deeds of the opposing party, the court appointed technical consultations, are scanned and can be examined. The system was quite successful among the institutional customers who entrust a great number of files to Picozzi & Morigi, often managed by asset managers inside the customer’s structure. No more phone calls, no shipping of documents, only on line information with maximum protection. The operators in charge of the Customer’s internal legal service can intervene on the documents to provide accounting data, historical data or any element requested by the Picozzi & Morigi lawyer, in total consistency.
The system’s integration with video conference has made contemporaneity and presence of the lawyers a reality.
The evolution of work and the increasingly complex topics to be dealt with have led the founding partners of Picozzi & Morigi Law Firm to try and attract talented legal practitioners who are interested not only in training from a strictly judicial point of view but also from the professional aspect, demonstrating relational capabilities, initiative, attention and care in understanding the needs of the various customers as well as knowledge of the type of work they carry out and the context they move in.
Following this philosophy, throughout time Picozzi & Morigi has trained many lawyers who today are a close-knit competent group where reciprocal respect is the foundation and cooperation is the rule.
A career in the Picozzi & Morigi Law Firm is founded on merit and there is no distinction of race, gender, nationality, political orientation, religious belief and socio-economic conditions.

THE TRAINING PROCEDURE FOR LAWYERS

The primary aim of the Picozzi & Morigi Law Firm has always been to train young lawyers entering the legal practice.
The underlying idea is to consider the young trainee a resource for the future. We consider them a valuable asset and we want them to be part of our “club”: the Picozzi & Morigi Law Firm.
Each young person is assigned to an office, according to their characteristics and the approval expressed by the owner of the individual office. This young lawyer will follow a training course that includes not only the forensic practice in the strict sense, meaning the ability to draw up legal documents and be present at hearings, but also the scientific and ethical training.
Each one is assigned an “evaluation card” to be kept by the head of the office; it shows the research carried out and the evaluation, the documents written, the hearings prepared and the scientific conventions the young lawyer has participated in.

This career is marked by:

  • the toga given by the Picozzi & Morigi Law Firm to the trainee who has passed the bar exam;
  • the first gold star given to lawyers capable of independent management of the dossiers assigned to them, with capability of analysis and diagnosis of the lawsuit;
  • the second gold star awarded to lawyers capable of obtaining assignments directly from customers;
  • the third gold star at the conclusion of the course, with the integration of the young lawyer in the Picozzi & Morigi Law Firm “club” and this lawyer’s stable capability in handling customer assignments.

At the end of the training course the young lawyers can propose opening a separate office. If Picozzi & Morigi accepts the project, it will be carried forward, entrusting the young lawyers with the responsibility of the new office.
